The Argentine team limited itself to informing, through a tweet, that “the world champion squad will leave Tuesday at noon for the Obelisk to celebrate the world title with the fans.”
“I don’t think we’re going to see them here tomorrow,” a source from the Casa Rosada said hopelessly to THE NATION.
The Minister of Security, Hannibal Fernandez, had reported this morning, in an interview with CNN Radio: “The President offered the players the Casa Rosada. We offered them to do the same as in 1986. At that moment they were received, congratulated, recognized and the team went to the balcony”. And he clarified that they had not received any response from the Argentine Football Association (AFA). “The President has every vocation to do what they want to do. There is no political speculation,” said the minister.
Meanwhile, the Casa Rosada is working on the security operation for tomorrow, which for now will include accompanying the players from the airport to the AFA premises in Ezeiza and, from there, to the Obelisk. “The operation is planned and coordinated with the security forces,” said an official who works at the government house.

Yesterday, Alberto Fernández decided that this Monday would not have a holiday, despite the rumors that had been installed yesterday to the contrary, when the President entered the Casa Rosada, after 6:30 p.m., in the midst of the celebrations for the triumph of the Argentina.
It would have been a novel and unprecedented decision given that in the two previous triumphs of the Argentine national team in world championships (1978 and 1986), the governments had not decreed an administrative holiday.
Among the factors that determined the measure was the concern to guarantee the security of the return of the selection. In this sense, in the Government they emphasized that it has not yet been defined when the meeting of the players with whom they wish to approach to celebrate will be.
Everything indicates that the two Aerolíneas Argentinas flights that will bring the players and their families, according to what happened on previous occasions, will land in the area of private flights at the Ezeiza airport. All the players will migrate internally and then leave together in a bus from the track.
