The President of the Republic inaugurates the Umugiraneza polyclinic

The President of the Republic, Evariste Ndayishimiye, inaugurated, on Saturday August 6, 2022, on Kibimba hill in Giheta commune of Gitega province, the Umugiraneza Polyclinic, one of the works of the Umugiraneza Foundation directed by the First Lady of the country.

“It is a great joy for the Umugiraneza Foundation, which works for the development of the country, by getting involved in the promotion of the health of the population,” said Evariste Ndashimiye, in his word for the occasion. For this reason, the Head of State congratulated this Foundation with regard to the works already carried out, and encouraged it to move forward in its noble mission.

As for Angéline Ndayishimiye, president of the Umugiraneza Foundation, she indicated that this infrastructure is aimed at supporting the government in its policy of promoting the health of the population.

To this end, she revealed that this polyclinic started its activities with free care services for patients with eye disease. “Soon,” she says, “another campaign of 500 people is planned. But, this time, it will pay off with an affordable price so that those who have little means can take advantage of it. Medical specialists from India will support this work,” she said.

Ms. Ndayishimiye added that currently, this polyclinic offers other services that have benefits for patients who travel abroad or to other corners of the country for treatment.

Different services are offered

She thanked all those who contributed, directly or indirectly, to the realization of this project. On this occasion, Bishop Dieudonné Datonou, Apostolic Wedding in Burundi spread the divine blessing on this polyclinic.

A guided tour allowed the Head of State to see how this polyclinic works. After this visit, President Ndayishimiye affixed his signature to the guestbook.

The Umugiraneza polyclinic is well prepared to accomplish its mission given that it has specialist doctors and is equipped with appropriate equipment. The services offered are emergencies, internal medicine, gyneco-obstetrics, fertility, ophthalmology, pediatrics and surgery.
