The demand for the green currency in Sudan is declining during the current period, amid anticipation by investors for the announcement of the Federal Reserve (the US central) for the new interest rates, which are likely to be increased by 1.25% in stages.

The Central Bank of Sudan set the indicative price of the dollar against the Sudanese pound, today, at the level of 443.50010 pounds, and a profit margin of 0.75% for banks and exchanges, provided that it does not exceed (negative / positive 5%).
Since Sudan devalued its local currency against the dollar, the value of the gross domestic product (GDP) has fallen to only $13 billion, after reaching $108 billion before February 2021.
The value of the average per capita income also declined to only $314, down from $2,500, and the external debt, the equivalent of the local currency, rose from 3 trillion pounds to 24.6 trillion, equivalent to 400% of the estimated GDP for 2022.

Sources indicated that the main reasons for the rise are due to financial speculation and the uncertainty of the government’s financial situation, in addition to the absence of a clear vision of the economy, in addition to rumors that are widely spread on social networks about the status of the local currency by opponents of the current government.

The price of the euro in Sudan today at the Central Bank of Sudan fell to the level of 494.40 pounds for purchase, 498.11 pounds for sale, while it reached in the unofficial (black) parallel market today about 550 pounds.
The price of the pound sterling in Sudan fell today at the Central Bank, to the level of 592.12 pounds for purchase, 596.56 pounds for sale.
The price of the pound sterling on the Sudanese black market, at the beginning of today’s trading, fell to the level of 640 pounds.
