An ideal portable PC for mobility
While laptops intended for video games are often rather massive, in accordance with the design that some players expect, this HP Omen 15 has the advantage of being more compact, with a thickness of only 2.29 cm and a rather contained weight of 2.4 kg, which makes it more portable to play anywhere. It will naturally be heavier than a basic ultraportable, but this gaming PC still includes traditional fans and cooling systems to ensure good performance during sessions.
Regarding its screen, it will be framed by thin borders, and above all incorporates a 15.6-inch Full HD panel, which constitutes a very practical diagonal so that you do not miss any detail during your games. This anti-reflective panel is also refreshed at 144 Hz, a rate which is part of the standard and which promises good display fluidity and excellent responsiveness. The response rate is 7 ms, which is still decent.
High performance
With its Omen 15-en1037nf, HP did not do things halfway on the performance side, and bet on an eight-core AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor clocked at 3.2 GHz (boost up to 4.4 GHz), supported by 16 GB of RAM. There is also an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card. With such a configuration, it will be easy to run all demanding and AAA games in the best graphics conditions. A 512 GB NVMe SSD in M.2 format completes the package and will provide the user with reduced loading times and fast machine launches.
Regarding autonomy, the HP Omen 15 defends itself rather well compared to the majority of gaming laptops which do not offer a long period of use far from an outlet. Here, we will be entitled to a battery life of 9 hours all the same, but that’s not all: the laptop has fast charging via USB-C, which will recover around 50% of the battery in just 45 minutes. Finally, the HP Omen 15 has rather extensive connectivity, with a USB-C port therefore, three USB ports, an HDMI port, a mini DisplayPort, a microSD card reader and a headphone / microphone jack. Also note that this HP Omen 15 runs on Windows 10, but you will be able to upgrade to Windows 11 for free with an update.
