The Parkinson’s Foundation, in collaboration with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), created exercise recommendations easy-to-follow guidelines outlining safe and effective types of exercise for people with Parkinson’s. They include guidelines for exercise frequency, intensity, and volume. For help developing an exercise routine, talk to your doctor or ask for a referral to see a physical therapist who specializes in Parkinson’s. A physical therapist can give you recommendations for safe and beneficial exercises.
