Spain’s High Council for Sport (CSD) is preparing to take action in the case of racially abusing Real Madrid player Vinicius Junior. The CSD announced that more than 10 Real Valladolid fans who racially abused the player during the La Liga match will be punished.
The CSD said in a statement that the Commission Against Violence, Racism and Xenophobia in Sport has initiated proceedings to punish more than 10 fans. Police are collecting information. The CSD said it will recommend penalties that include a 4,000 euro (about $4,300) fine and a one-year ban for those found guilty.
After the match on December 30, LaLiga filed a complaint with the police and submitted video and audio recordings. Madrid defeated Valladolid by two goals in the match.
