The return process of Pakistani pilgrims stranded at Baghdad Airport has been completed, 688 Pakistani pilgrims were brought back home through two flights, pilgrims were stranded at the airport due to lost passports.

The first flight of Pakistani pilgrims stranded at Baghdad Airport in Iraq arrived in Karachi this morning carrying 300 people.

The second flight was expected on Saturday afternoon and reached Karachi carrying the rest of the passengers.

Member National Assembly Abdul Hameed met the Governor of Sindh in Islamabad and thanked the Governor for his efforts to bring back the people trapped in Iraq.

Earlier, the Sindh Governor contacted the Ambassador of Iraq by telephone, on which the Ambassador assured that full measures are being taken for the early return of the pilgrims.

It should be noted that the passports of more than 50 Pakistani pilgrims were lost by the airport immigration administration at the Baghdad Airport in Iraq.

The Pakistani pilgrims said that they have been at Baghdad Airport since 4 am, the flight left us in Baghdad at 9 am and left for Islamabad.

Pilgrims stuck in Baghdad further said that our passports are not being received by the administration, they are not being told when and how the compatriots will return.

Pakistani pilgrims appealed for help from Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

The pilgrims had demanded the government of Pakistan to ensure the immediate return of Pakistanis by emergency special flight.
