The elected officials were able to read updated documents concerning the museum project, which is valued at around 12 million dollars.

The amount provided for the revitalization of the premises could be shared by various partners, including Heritage Canadathe Ministry of Culture and Communicationsthe City of Sherbrooke and the Sherbrooke History Museum.

In addition to the museum, the project also proposes the addition of activities, including escape games, and overnight stays at the prison.

The transformation of the former Winter prison could thus represent a major gain for the Sherbrooke tourism industry.
