AMD will soon strengthen its entry-level RDNA 3 desktop with a Radeon RX 7600 It remains to be seen whether this XT version will retain the same GPU.

The Radeon RX 7000 desktop range extends from the RX 7900 XTX to the RX 7600 ; according to Scott Herkelman’s statements made last August, the RDNA 3 catalog is supposed to be complete. However, registrations made by PowerColor with the EEC (Eurasian Economic Commission) relating to a Radeon RX 7600 XT stuffed with GDDR6 memory had quickly denied this allegation; the entry on the scene of this graphic card would be imminent.

According to information from Benchlife, AMD will launch this graphics card on January 24. The company’s objective: to interfere with the Super start of the year 2024 orchestrated by NVIDIA. Indeed, everything suggests that the company will unveil three new graphics cards in the coming weeks.

A mid-range card with enough VRAM?

Knowing that the RTX 40 Super would involve the RTX 4080 and RTX 4070, responding with an RX 7600 XT does not seem the most appropriate response. This card would above all make AMD more competitive in this segment, which is aimed at the majority of players.

In addition, let’s keep in mind that NVIDIA is reportedly preparing an RTX 3050 6 GB apparently offered at a very attractive price. The reservation is the same as above: these two references would not quite fit in the same category.

At any rate, AMD would not offer a reference model (MBA for Made by AMD) of RX 7600 XT: partners would have exclusivity for this card.

Concerning the specifications, they remain uncertain at the moment. For dedicated video memory, some sources suggest 10 GB of VRAM, others 12 GB; a coexistence of the two options is also not excluded.

Regarding the number of cores on the other hand, the reuse of the Navi 33 GPU would imply the the state in which with the RX 7600, this graphics card already uses its entire chipset. Of course, nothing prevents AMD from mobilizing the Navi 32 GPU.

To finish, Benchlife rules out non-XT Radeon RX 7800/7700 variants for now.
