The game, which goes by the name “Project Rene” at the moment, was announced as part of a live stream “Behind the Sims Summit“. Lyndsay Pearson of Maxis had the pleasure of announcing this major new title that all fans of the franchise have been eagerly awaiting. For intimate readers of Weighs on start: yes, the team let out a big big cry.

Pearson has, however, repeatedly pointed out that this next main title in the series The Sims is still in early development. We will have to wait again several years before getting your hands on it. We don’t even know if it will be called The Sims 5! But hey, I’ll keep calling her The Sims 5. “Project Rene” is a bit weird.

The broadcast previewed the decorating mode, where the player is seen adjusting the shapes of a couch and even adding throw pillows to it. It may seem trivial, but loyal fans will quickly find that the customization has been pushed to the limit. Unfortunately, there is no preview of the Sims in question. Bou!

We recognize controls similar to those of games Planet Coaster et Planet Zoo, where you can actually rotate an object and position it however you want. This is delicious.

This new title will also have multiplayer building options. From what we see, our friends will be able to get into our game and participate in the construction. It will also be an experience cross-platformtherefore compatible between platforms, because we see a player consulting a catalog on her mobile device and continuing her game on a computer.

Waiting for the next game The Sims, in several years, we can take advantage of Sims 4, released in 2014, which has been free everywhere since Tuesday. Of course, this does not include the many paid DLCs and major expansions. You still have to spend a good amount of money if you want to take advantage of all that The Sims 4 can offer. There is no code motherlode for real life, alas.
