Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Emirati club Shabab Al-Ahly announced, on Wednesday, that Belgium defender Jason Denayer joined the team, coming from the French club Lyon.
Shabab Al-Ahly Club published a video clip on its Twitter account, which downloaded the announcement of the inclusion of Dinaer, in which the player said: “I am with you in Al-Ahly Youth Club.”
The Belgian defender’s joining the UAE club on a free transfer comes after the end of his contract with the French club Lyon, last July, which he moved to in the summer of 2018.
Dinaire is 27 players, and played 138 matches with Lyon, in various competitions, during which he scored 8 goals and assisted 2.
At the international level, Jason is a mainstay in the back line of the Belgium national team, and has participated in 35 international matches, during which he scored one goal.
Jason Denayer is the fifth foreign professional in Al-Ahly’s Shebbak Club, as 4 other professionals are active in the team’s ranks, namely: Syrian Omar Kharbin, Uzbek Aziz Ganyev, Argentine Kartabia and Iranian Ahmad Nour Allah.
The UAE League is distinguished in the 2023/2022 season by attracting the most prominent players of different nationalities, as Sharjah Club also succeeded in including: Miralem Pjanic from Barcelona, Paco Alcacer from Villarreal, and Costas Manolas from Olympiacos, while Al Wahda club signed with Everton player Alan, and Al Nasr Club With Moroccan Adel Taarabt and Al-Jazira Club with Czech Philip Novak, in addition to some other deals concluded by ADNOC Professional League clubs.
