Al-Marsad newspaper: Youssef Al-Thubaiti, son of the late poet Muhammad Awad Al-Thubaiti, confirmed that his family did not allow the Arab artist, Muhammad Abdo, to sing the poem “Gate of the Wind”.
Al-Thubaiti said, in a telephone interview via Al-Ekhbariya channel: “We have not had any agreement on the poem, nor any communication from the artist, Muhammad Abdo, or the Ministry of Culture.”
And he concluded his speech: “We submitted a statement to the Ministry of Culture two years ago, after Muhammad Abdo sang “Gate of the Wind”, but we have not yet agreed.”
