The Spanish Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, praised the intervention carried out by the Moroccan forces in order to counter an attempted mass intrusion by dozens of clandestine migrants on Friday morning.
Marlaska said that the Moroccan forces successfully repelled the attempt of about 300 clandestine immigrants to reach the border fence without the intervention of the Spanish forces.
Marlaska added that this intervention by the Moroccan forces highlights the importance of cooperation between the two countries in combating clandestine immigration.
It is worth noting that the attempted raid resulted in the injury of 14 Moroccan forces and the injury of 6 immigrants, in addition to the arrest of 70 immigrants.
