The songs that were specially prepared for the two holidays are countless, including: “Hilal Hilal Al-Eid” by Nour Al-Huda, “Hail Ya Eid” by Muhammad Abdel-Wahhab, “Halt Sweet Nights” by Farid Al-Atrash, “The Big Night” by Sayed Makkawi, and “Youm Eid is joy and joy” by Souad Muhammad, “Welcome to Eid” by Safaa Abu Al-Saud, “Tonight is Eid” by Yasmine Khayyam, “I was honored, Eid” by Maher Al-Attar, “Welcome to Eid” by the fun trio, “Days of Eid” by Fayrouz, and “From Eid” by Muhammad Abdo, “Happy New Year” by Talal Maddah, “Your Eid Mubarak” by Hussein Al Jasmi, “Welcome Eid” by Abdullah Fadala, and “My Beloved Eid Mubarak” by Afifa Iskandar, and “Happy New Year, Mother And Fatherly »by the Bahraini Youssef Hamadeh, and many others.

However, the song that stood out from others, and Arab radio stations did not stop broadcasting it on the occasions of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha since the forties of the 20th century, is the song “Oh Night of Eid, Anstina” by Mrs. Umm Kulthum, and this song has a story whose details were written by more than one Egyptian newspaper, and its summary is that Umm Kulthum Kulthum, while entering the Egyptian Radio building one day in the year 1937, heard one of the sellers promoting his goods, shouting, “Oh, the night of the feast, forget us.” So the sentence settled in her mind, and she decided to include it in a song she sang for the feast.

When she entered the radio, she found the musician Zakaria Ahmed and the poet Bayram Al-Tunisi waiting for her, so she asked Bayram to write a song for her that included that phrase that she had heard by chance, but Bayram suffered from a health problem and did not do what was required, which made her entrust the operation to the poet Ahmed Rami, who wrote:

Oh, the night of the feast, missina, and you renewed hope in us

Oh, the night of Eid, is your crescent moon for our eyes? We rejoiced and sang for it

And we said Al-Saad will come to you on the night of Eid

People gathered on the Khalan and the cup house on regret

And the birds singing on the branches greet the dawn on the night of the feast

My love, a vehicle running, and my soul in the breeze, running

Tell him, Jamil Badri, it is forbidden to sleep on the night of Eid

O light of the eye, O dear, O occupant of my joy and my mind

Almighty be sympathetic to my condition, and soften the heart on the night of Eid.

Oh, the night of Eid, you made us forget and you renewed hope in us…etc, etc

Zakaria Ahmed set a beautiful melody for these words, and Umm Kulthum sang it, so that the song achieved an overwhelming success that no previous holiday song had achieved. While she was singing, King Farouk arrived at the concert venue, while he was driving his car himself. He ordered that the party not stop, took a seat, and sat listening to her performance.

Thus, Umm Kulthum continued her singing, but her intelligence led her to insert sentences in the original text of the song “Ya Laylat al-Eid” to welcome the presenter of the King of the country, so she sang:

“O our Nile, your death is sugar and your sowing in the valley is light.

Farouk lives and congratulates him, and we salute him for the nights of Eid.

And an increase in the celebration of her king, she moved with good tact and disposition to the last couplet of the song “My Lover Makes His Times Happy.” She sang “My love is like the moon, before it appears, they calculate appointments. My love is like the moon, sending its light from far to far. .

As a result of this clever act of Kulthum, the king bestowed upon her the honor of perfection of the third degree, which is a high decoration that is bestowed upon the queen and the princesses of the royal family only. The royal court, Hassanein Pasha, decided to award her the Order of Kamal, thus becoming Umm Kulthum, the first Egyptian artist in the history of ancient and modern Egypt to be awarded the title of “Her Infallibility”.
