The deputy of the Civic Coalition Monica Frade stayed in the center of controversy after starring in a unusual mistake in the social media. The legislator reported a problem with the 1,000-peso bills, but later realized that it had been a mistake.
Several Twitter users ironized about it and made fun of their confusion.
“Is Patagonia Chilean territory on our banknotes?”, the deputy asked mischievously in a Twitter message. And then she finished: “They will have to explain it.”
Minutes later, a cataract of messages exploded on Twitter mocking the error of the legislator of Together for Change in the province, who, faced with the wave of messages, decided to delete her tweet.
The deputy for the province of Buenos Aires referred today to the map that is included in the 1000 bills and interpreted that the shaded area delimited the geographical margins of Argentina. In this way, the legislator attributed the rest of the extension to Chilean territory.
What happened is that Frade did not realize that the shaded area refers to the natural habitat of the hornero, Argentina’s national bird.
It is not the first time that the deputy has been involved in a controversy. In 2020 Frade had already sparked great controversy after proposing the consumption and application of chlorine dioxide in patients with Covid-19 coronavirus.
On that occasion, while a project that authorized the Government to obtain vaccines aimed at generating acquired immunity against the coronavirus was being debated in Congress, Frade spoke about the strategies of other countries to face the pandemic, and mentioned the use of chlorine dioxide in the region.
When consulted by LA NACION, the legislator had told, at that time, that she consumed chlorine dioxide preventively and that it would present a project so that clinical trials with the substance in the country would be approved. In addition to defending her position, Frade had also been surprised by her peers’ rejection of her proposal.
