The Switch stores in Belgium, it’s over!

The contract with Apple, of which Switch was a “premium reseller”, has been terminated, the Setca union said on Wednesday. RTL Info announced earlier today the disappearance of Switch stores after consulting an internal memo to Indexia Group, the French owner of the brand. Trade unionist Bart Leybaert confirms that management communicated this decision, ensuring that it would have no impact on staff. But the workers’ representative is worried about the fate of Switch’s technical department that repaired Apple devices.

Management could not be reached on Wednesday to comment on this information.

Switch has suffered from a poor image for several years due to numerous complaints related to controversial sales techniques. According to testimonials collected by Test Achats in particular, customers found themselves with an insurance contract they did not want after buying a smartphone, tablet or computer.

Following inspections, the financial market authority FSMA prohibited Switch from distributing insurance products in Belgium. The company finally renounced its registration in the register of insurance intermediaries.
