the captain of the Honduran Under 20 National Team, Aarón Zúniga, appeared at a press conference where he lamented the defeat (3-0) against United States that deprived them of qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics, however, he denoted the pride of the squad for the ticket to the Indonesia World Cup 2023.
In the words of the young defender, “we are sad because the teacher (Luis Alvarado) has made us winners, we have that in us, unfortunately we did not manage to qualify for the Olympic Games, but we stayed with the qualification for the World Cup even though we both wanted”.
And he added: “We lost the game in the first half, for the second we had no problems. We think we entered confident, we had mistakes and we lost concentration. They didn’t forgive us and that’s football.”
Zúniga responded that one of the weaknesses of the H was lack of concentration and the fact that he entered the pitch with a lot of confidence.
“We trusted in ourselves, we knew what we could achieve, that’s why we’re sorry for not qualifying for the Olympic Games, but what we’ve achieved is nice given how the country is doing”.

“I don’t think that was the difference, whatever we fought for, but we didn’t make it. I leave happy and proud with my teammates and coaching staff. Here I found a family. It is my first tournament, I managed to be a captain, so I am happy to achieve my first World Cup”, he closed.
