This forty-year-old experienced a martyrdom. To the point of going to the afterlife in Belgium, euthanized. And if the husband obviously suffers from the loss of his wife, he is particularly angry with a doctor.
A childbirth and a disastrous decision
In 2010, Elodie is a young mother like any other. And if her delivery leaves her with after-effects after a deep tear in the perineum. And four years later, during the birth of her second child, Maëlys, she again felt a strange and persistent sensation.
Originally from Reunion Island, Elodie travels with her husband Thomas to a hospital in the Paris region recommended to them, where she will have the unfortunate encounter with a surgeon, who will make decisions without notifying the person concerned. : “It’s nothing at all! We’re going to cut and tighten. They are not able to do it in Reunion? ”, he quips.
Except that the months pass, and a violent pain arrives. “She had the impression that her pelvis had been torn apart, like a collapse from the inside,” explains her husband.
The couple therefore inquired with the surgeon, who reassured her and admitted something incredible: he had inserted a prosthesis vaginally, without warning the patient. “With what I did to you, you will never have a problem,” he will even say.
But unfortunately, reality catches up with Elodie, with pain that only increases. But when she wants to have the prosthesis removed, we understand that this operation is practically impossible, because touching the prosthesis causes such retraction of the vagina that the prosthesis perforates Élodie’s twice.
And when France bans prosthetics in February 2020, the couple falls from their chair. Élodie and the others filed a complaint for “unintentional injuries”.
But the damage is done and when during the last chance operation in the USA, the American surgeon manages to extract the prosthesis, he gives the terrible verdict: “Inside, it’s a butchery. ”
Euthanasia as the only means of relief
Thomas suffers from seeing his wife destroy herself day by day. And when he sees her fall into the shower, he dares to address her with his terrible words: “If you care about me and the children, you can leave…”, to which Elodie replied: “Thank you…”.
And if the husband hoped until August 23 that his wife would change her mind, the direction to Belgium so that Elodie could be euthanized and find peace becomes effective. And as the widower explains, in four years, it is the first time that he has seen his wife at peace.
