Amazon Studios took advantage of the millionaire audience gathered by the Super Bowl in the US to premiere the first ‘teaser’ trailer from the long-awaited series ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power‘.
The 60-second teaser is the first appetizer of this fiction, co-directed by the Spanish J.A Bayonaabout the fantastic universe created by JRR Tolkienwhich will be released worldwide next 2 september in Amazon Prime Video.
“Before the King, before the community, before the ring: A new legend begins this fall”, is the only message that the video reveals.
The trailer shows the impressive scenes from the seriesendowed with a setting very similar to the film trilogy.
The platform has also revealed the name of the seven main characters: Prince Durin IV (Owain Arthur), Princess Disa (Sophia Nomvete), Elrond (Robert Aramayo), Galadriel (Morfydd Clark)Arondir (Ismael Cruz Córdoba), Bronwyn (Nazanin Boniadi) and Halbrand (Charlie Vickers).
The plot is situated “thousands of years before” the events narrated in ‘The Hobbit’ and in the ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy.

‘Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ is one of the great television bets for the coming years and has involved an investment of 465 million dollars for Amazonwhich this summer finished filming the first season in New Zealand.
The idea of the company is to emulate the phenomenon of ‘Game of Thrones’ even on a larger scale, Well, the HBO series invested about 100 million dollars per season, far from the 465 of the Amazon fiction.
The original film trilogy grossed $2.912 million.
In addition to directing the first two episodes of the series, Bayona (‘The Impossible’, 2012; ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’, 2018) is also an executive producer.
