The UAE has been without a single malaria case for 15 years

The UAE is a country without a single malaria patient. According to health officials, not a single case of malaria has been reported in the country in the last 15 years.

With this, the UAE became the first Eastern Mediterranean country to achieve this feat. The health department said the achievement was the result of intensive preventive measures taken in collaboration with various departments. In 2007, the World Health Organization declared the UAE a completely malaria free country.
