Thailand Songkran Festival 2024 Dates
The Songkran Festival in Thailand is held every year from April 13th to 15th, but this year the Thai government announced that it will extend the date to 5th and will be held from April 12th to 16th in 2024. Usually during the Water Splashing Festival, anyone who wears light clothes, a flowery shirt, holds a water splashing tool, or is completely soaked can be splashed with water! Basically during the Songkran Festival, there are large and small water splashing activities in various places in Thailand such as Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Ayutthaya, Pattaya and other places. Yahoo Travel has compiled the following 5 popular places:
1. Bangkok Lumpini Park
Every year during the Songkran Festival in Thailand, a grand Songkran celebration is held in Lumpini Park in Bangkok, in which the Phra Buddha Sihing, the Buddha statue from the Bangkok National Museum, will be held in a procession here. During this period, people will perform a Buddha bathing ceremony with fragrant purified water. There will also be large-scale donation activities and elder blessing ceremonies in the area.
2. Khao San Road, Bangkok
Khao San Road in Bangkok is a gathering place for many youth hotels, massages, and bars. It is also where the largest number of young people gather.
