Lions and tigers are the two top predators in their food chain. As big cats, lions and tigers are dangerous mammal species and subspecies.
Top predators between lions and tigers have different habitats and characteristics. Lions and tigers usually do not live in the same territory. Even though they have overlapping home ranges, they rarely live in the same habitat.
The main difference between the two big cats is clearly visible in their appearance. In general, tigers are burnt orange with black stripes while lions are sandy brown with faint, darker spots.

In terms of range, most of the lion’s range is in Africa and most of the tiger’s range is in Asia. Apart from that, in terms of socialization, lions tend to live in groups and hunt together. In contrast, tigers are generally solitary. Young tigers can establish their own territories as they approach adulthood.
However, according to Kyle Glatz, the determining factor in a fight between a tiger and a lion is size, speed, defense, attacking power and predatory behavior. Lions and tigers apparently have the same speed, defense, attacking power. Meanwhile, in terms of size, it is known that tigers are superior in weight and length to lions.
Another interesting thing is known from its predatory behavior. Lions will attack opponents in groups. Meanwhile, tigers are ambush predators that almost always hunt alone. Both animals have strong predatory behavior, but tigers can be more deadly when alone.
