The (unmanned) Indian rocket Chandrayaan-3 has successfully landed!

Chandrayaan-3 is a space probe of the Indian space agency, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), launched on July 14, 2023.

The space probe landed on August 23, 2023 on the surface of the Moon not far from the South Pole three days following the space probe failed Russian Luna 25 having the same objective of reaching this lunar region. The rover and the lander must perform various measurements using their instruments. The duration of the mission on lunar soil is 14 Earth days (one lunar day).

The space probe is a copy of Chandrayaan-2 launched in July 2019 but which crashed on the surface of the Moon following a failure of its equipment.
