the update would land just before the end of October

The stable version of iPadOS 16 should be deployed from October 24, according to journalist Mark Gurman. It should be made available directly in version 16.1 with the promise of having fixed the bugs.

We knew it, the deployment of iPadOS 16 was planned a month after that of iOS 16. So it shouldn’t take too long. In effect iOS 16 launched on September 12 to accompany the release of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro. According to Mark Gurman, journalist for Bloomberg and recognized specialist in matters relating to Apple, “iPadOS 16.1 is on track to launch the week of October 24 — barring any new bugs or issues ».

In a tweet, he recalls that the Cupertino company usually organizes launches in the same week as the presentation of financial results to its investors.

iPadOS 16.1 is on track to be released the week of Oct. 24th — barring any new bugs or issues. Apple has historically held launches the week of its earnings calls in October.

Bugs that needed to be fixed on iPadOS 16

Note that, no doubt because of the small delay, iPadOS 16 will be directly offered under the name of iPadOS 16.1. The stable version of Apple’s tablet operating system was originally scheduled to ship in September, but some development issues have delayed development. In particular, it was a question an unsatisfactory experience in the Stage Manager function.

MacRumors affirms that this option which makes it possible to manage several windows of applications simultaneously profited from a correction meanwhile, but that certain users continue to complain of important concerns in the beta.

It remains to be seen whether this could cause a further delay or not. Also note that macOS Ventura is also planned in its stable version for the month of October. It’s not impossible that it happens at the same time as iPadOS 16.1.
