An accident took place this Monday morning, in Mettet, on the RN98. A driver lost control of his vehicle, a van, in less than ideal traffic conditions. It was indeed necessary to deal with a significant fog.
This is undoubtedly one of the reasons why the driver did not see that he was coming up to the Stave roundabout. He would therefore not have braked in time. According to a witness, the van then took off and left the road to find itself immobilized some six meters below.
Fortunately, he was not injured in this spectacular accident. The damage is only material. It was necessary to call the Croes depanneur in Florennes to be able to free the vehicle.
