The Russian figure skating championship ended in Krasnoyarsk. Sports.ru presents a digest of the main events of the tournament.
1. The first medals were played in ice dancing, where we have new flagships – victory (even with two falls) were won by Elizaveta Khudaiberdiyeva and Yegor Bazin.
2. Khudaiberdiyeva burst into tears after the free dance, and then confessedthat was not ready for so much criticism. Bazin saidthat the skaters skate for themselves, and the coach sent the duet’s critics to the dustbin of history.
3. For men after the short program starred last year’s champion Mark Kondratyuk – his back let him down. But this is not the only withdrawal during the tournament: Alexandra Trusova felt unwell, and the temperature on the eve of the women’s tournament rose to 39.4. Now it seems everything is fine.
Due to illness, Irina Khavronina and Dario Chirizano did not perform in the dances (although they skated a rhythm dance) and Vasilisa Kaganovskaya and Valery Angelopol.
4. Despite the absence of Kondratyuk and Mikhail Kolyada (he did not come due to an exacerbation of sinusitis), an incredible intrigue swirled in the men’s tournament. results were so dense that the winner and the silver medalist scored the same number of points. According to additional indicators (victory in the free program), Evgeny Semenenko won – this is his first victory at the Russian championships. Peter Gumennik is the second.
5. Couples have their own drama. World champions Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov were in the lead after the short, but in the free program Nastya made a mistake in the cascade. It cost them gold. The first – Alexandra Boykova and Dmitry Kozlovsky, they have already won the championship of Russia – three years ago and also in Krasnoyarsk. Mishina painfully accepted the defeat – she cried for more than a minute.
6. The girls have a new champion – gold for 15-year-old Sofia Akatieva. Student Eteri Tutberidze jumped a triple axel in the short program and two quadruples in the free program. On the second day, Sophia fell off the trixel and very frightenedbut two quads were enough to win.
7. Silver – Kamila Valieva. It could have been gold if it wasn’t for her. left without a jump in the short program. But in the free program she jumped two clean quadruple sheepskin coats.
8. In the final of the program about the Olympiad Valiev did not wear a hood. After explained it’s like this: “I think it’s no longer needed. You don’t have to hide your face.”
9. Elizaveta Tuktamysheva won bronze. Lisa’s achievement is about records and numbers. She is 11 years older than the winner, and the last time before this tournament she was on the podium of the Russian Championship 8 years ago (then was last podium adult figure skater).
10. This tournament is 15th in the career of Tuktamysheva. 16 times no one competed at the Russian Championship, but Liza, it seems, ready for a record.
