The Voice: the surprising gift of Jean, the farmer from the Pyrénées-Orientales, saved in extremis

The shepherd from the Rialet farm, in La Llagonne in the Pyrénées-Orientales, was drafted by the surprise jury Nolwenn Leroy this Saturday February 12 during the blind auditions of The Voice. On set, no juror had turned around. Jean Palau had nevertheless brought them cheese from his own production!

It was the first blind auditions for the candidates of The Voice, this Saturday February 12 on TF1. And the show was marked by the lovely encounter between Nolwenn Leroy, this year’s surprise coach, and the Pyrenees shepherd Jean Palau.

The candidate benefited from the new rule of this 11th season. When none of the coaches on set (Vianney, Florent Pagny, Amel Bent and Marc Lavoine) selects a candidate, the surprise coach hidden behind the scenes can offer a second chance. And that’s what Nolwenn Leroy decided to do for Jean Palau after his performance on “Rise like a phoenix” by Conchita Wurst.

The candidate from Pyrénées-Orientales, a 39-year-old cheese producer, benefited from the boost from the surprise coach. Nolwenn Leroy was touched by the story of the farmer from La Llagonne, who did not hesitate to offer cheese from his Rialet farm to the jurors. And even thought of selecting a pasteurized cheese for Amel Bent, pregnant. A draft which is for the moment kept secret.
