2x GRAMMY Award-nominated duo The War And Treaty have released their new single, “It’ll Hurt Me More Than It’ll Hurt You,” available now via Atlantic Outpost alongside an official visualizer.
The Launch of a New Musical Chapter
The husband-and-wife team of Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter are expanding their catalog with the arrival of their fifth studio album, titled The Story of Michael and Tanya. This release serves as their Atlantic Outpost debut. Executive produced by Michael Trotter Jr., the eclectic project features collaborations with artists including Whoopi Goldberg, Valerie June, Wynonna, and Babyface. Babyface also shares co-writing credits on another track from the record, “You Can’t Hurt Me Anymore,” alongside Tanya Trotter, Jessi Alexander, Jon Randall, and Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman.
Over the past decade, the duo has accumulated over 100M worldwide streams. Their career milestones include an Emmy Award, along with Americana Music Honors & Awards for Duo/Group of the Year and Emerging Artist of the Year. They have also earned nominations for Grammy Awards—including a Best New Artist nod—alongside recognitions from the Country Music Association, CMT Music Awards, and the Academy of Country Music Awards.
Live Performances and Festival Dates
The release of the new single coincides with a packed itinerary. The War And Treaty are scheduled to perform at Nashville, TN’s Grand Ole Opry on Wednesday, August 19th. Following that performance, the duo will host their inaugural HeartsTown Music Festival on Saturday, August 22nd. The sold-out event takes place at their family ranch in Homer, MI, designed to celebrate community, restoration, and the power of music.
Additional tour highlights include a wide-ranging US headline run, festival appearances, and a special headline show at Nashville, TN’s historic Ryman Auditorium on Sunday, September 13th. Prior to the Ryman performance, a free public concert known as Sidewalk Sessions will take place at the PNC Plaza.
