MG did not return to Europe to do extras. After launching two models in two years, including the amazing MG ZS EVthe brand of the Chinese group SAIC persists in its quest for market share with a very aggressively priced MG5.
The main particularity of this MG5 is above all to be an electric station wagon, a rarity at a time when SUVs dominate sales. But MG was not content to electrify a classic format, it also set out to reduce its production costs to offer a well-equipped vehicle at an unbeatable price. Indeed, the MG5 will be marketed in two battery versions (50 kWh or 61 kWh), sold respectively at 32,490 euros and 33,990 euros.

In addition to the size of their battery, which will vary the autonomy from 320 km to 400 km (WLTP), the two versions will be equipped with a slightly different engine (130 kW and 115 kW), but will display the same torque of 280 Nm These differences were already noticeable on the MG ZS, which flaunts the same equipment. In the charging chapter, the characteristics are identical with a capacity of 11 kW in AC, and 87 kW maximum in fast DC charging.

In addition to the battery level, the other factor, which may vary the price of this MG5, is the level of finish. The brand offers two: Comfort and Luxuryfor a difference of 1,500 euros between the two.
Finally, with its traditional family format, its correct autonomy and its very attractive price, the MG5 could count well this year.
