Bugs, crashes, framerate drops… the next-gen version of The Witcher 3 on PC is causing problems for some players, but CD Projekt is on it.

False start for the next gen update of The Witcher 3 on PC. Intended, among other things, to improve the visual quality of the game, in particular by adding ray tracing technology, it brings with it technical problems that greatly affect the experience for many players, even those with a solid configuration. Fortunately, CD Projekt has promised to rectify the situation quickly.

The Witcher 3 next-gen: bugs galore on PC

On Reddit, a publication lists more than 1,500 comments from players who share the problems they have encountered since the release of The Witcher 3 next-gen patch on PC. FPS drops, crashes, textures that display poorly, abnormal use of graphics card or RAM resources… the list seems long. CD Projekt is obviously aware of all this and has published a message to reassure fans:

We are aware of issues reported by PC players since yesterday’s update. We are actively investigating all reports and will update on specific issues as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience !

Note, however, that the title has not become completely unplayable, but these concerns can be quite frustrating, especially since the update was eagerly awaited. If you encounter bugs, and while waiting for the arrival of a corrective patch, remember to check that your graphics card is up to date with the latest drivers. You can also report problems on the CD Projekt support site to help developers.

As a reminder, The Witcher 3 next-gen update is free to download for all owners of the game on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
