The World Cup-winning Albirrojas are at home

Asunción, IP Agency.-With qualification for the 2024 FIFA World Cup and the silver medal, and amidst tears, emotion and a lot of joy, the Albirroja Femenina Sub 20 arrived in the country.

With a campaign that saw 5 wins, 3 draws and only one defeat, and with the tournament’s top scorer in its ranks, Fátima Acosta with 7 goals.

It is the third World Cup qualification in the category, following those obtained in 2014 and 2018.

The World Cup players had an emotional reception at the “Silvio Pettirossi” International Airport, with songs and hugs, from family and friends who were present already in the early morning waiting for the silver girls.

Subsequently, the celebration moved to the APF Headquarters, where the entire red-haired team received a well-deserved recognition led by the president, Robert Harrison, and other main authorities of the institution.

Now, with the mission accomplished, it remains to plan the next challenge, which will be the World Cup in Colombia, which will be played from August 31 to September 22 of this year.
