During the program “Le Bilan”, she was offended to see the world on the verge of plunging back into war. According to Ms. Laurent, the planet seems to have forgotten the atrocities of war.

“We are supposed to be humans with intelligence and memory, but memory, we don’t have any!”, she proclaims.

“We have already forgotten the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina. We have already forgotten the atrocities that these people have experienced,” adds Régine Laurent.

The latter is particularly concerned about the repercussions of a war on the Ukrainian population, especially if cities are besieged.

“What does a city under siege mean? Remember: no medicine, no food. We have seen children die”, explains Régine Laurent

“My heart hurts, because I still remember the rape of thousands of women during this war, so much so that the International Criminal Court, for this war, said that it was a crime against humanity” , she adds.

Régine Laurent simply cannot explain how political leaders can plunge an entire population into an armed conflict.

“Imagine living in constant fear, fear in your stomach that you’re being bombarded, that your children, you can’t send them to school, you can’t do anything. Your life is suspended”, she illustrates.

“I would like the leader who starts the war to be the first in the front with his family and his children to understand, because for me, as much his life and the life of his relatives, it is worth as much as anyone in the world. population of Ukraine”, says Régine Laurent.
