The Gentlemen on Netflix: Guy Ritchie’s new action series
Nearly 25 years after the release of the cult classic Snatch (2000) taking a dive into the underworld of the New York mafia, Guy Ritchie puts on his director’s hat to give a sequel to the film The Gentlemen (2020) in the form of a series of the same name.
The feature film seduced by recounting the adventures of a drug lord (Matthew McConaughey) based in London who wants to withdraw from the market, against a backdrop of plots and betrayals. The series uses the same themes (organized crime, Great Britain, drugs), the same tone (British humor and the bloody side) but this time, it is the actor Theo James (Divergent, The White Lotus) who takes on the role of a gangster who has recently taken over the reins of his father’s cannabis operation.
Series The Gentlemen (2024) sue Eddie Horniman (Theo James) in his confrontation with a world whose codes he does not know and his attempts to control the excesses of his older brother, Freddy (Daniel Ings).
