In an interview with CNN, the uncle of the alleged perpetrator of the Highland Park massacre maintained that there was no indication of such an act.
Paul A. Crimo, Robert Crimo III’s uncle, spoke openly about the tragedy that his nephew caused.
“I am heartbroken, really broken,” he said. “There was no sign that he would do that.”
Paul Crimo describes the 22-year-old as “calm, solitary and silent, who keeps everything to himself”.
The alleged perpetrator of the shooting, which left at least 6 dead and 24 injured, lived in an apartment below the house of his father, Paul’s brother.
No friend or acquaintance has ever crossed the threshold of his apartment, according to the uncle, shocked by the situation.
The last time he saw him, Sunday evening, Robert Crimo III was quietly looking at his computer, “in a completely normal way”, he reports.
The killer was arrested by the police while fleeing in his car.
