Therme Plus initiative – collective pass campaign 2023

Austria’s thermal baths charge twice!

Baden (OTS) “Initiative Therme Plus” gives loyal thermal bath guests energy and joie de vivre this spring – and free entry to their favorite thermal baths!

The most popular thermal spas in Austria have recently joined forces: as part of the “Therme Plus initiative”, twenty-eight local thermal spas are launching a collective pass in April – and are thus inviting people to the most beneficial action of spring. Anyone who visits their favorite thermal spa during the promotional period from April 11 to June 30, 2023 will receive two free admissions following every tenth visit to the same thermal spa!*
The collection pass can be picked up from April 11th in all participating thermal baths of the Therme Plus initiative – from east to west, from south to north. For each paid day thermal bath ticket at full price (adults), the collective pass is signed in the favorite thermal bath. After ten visits, the guest is not only totally relaxed – but also gets two more day spa entries for the same spa for free!

Focus on health and vitality

In addition to relaxation and joie de vivre for bathing and wellness guests, this campaign focuses on the health of Austrians: it has been scientifically proven that regular visits to the thermal baths – with relaxing hours on a lounger, sauna sessions and lots of exercise in the warm water – are beneficial for the body and are spirit. “Whether alone, as a couple or with the whole family: Our thermal baths are real sources of joie de vivre and make a significant contribution to the health of the population,” explains Gerhard Gucher, Director of VAMED Vitality World and the driving force behind the thermal baths campaign.
As early as summer 2021, the Therme Plus initiative, at that time in cooperation with the Austrian , set an example for relaxation for health prevention and promoted thermal bath holidays in your own country. The motto “What gives you the most energy? – Austria’s thermal baths charge you up!” is also taken up in the current campaign. “Whether for couples, families, connoisseurs, health-conscious people, water slide fans and wellness friends – our thermal baths offer unforgettable experiences!” In addition, the highest water quality is guaranteed,
Best service and sustainable security concepts, and no matter where in Austria you are – there is always a thermal bath nearby!

Therme PLUS initiative: A successful project

The past winter season clearly shows how important the thermal baths are for local tourism: “The lack of snow, this year until late January, is becoming an ever greater problem for the ski areas. With our bad weather guarantee, we ensure that Austria remains attractive as a holiday destination despite everything – in winter and in summer,” says Gucher.
The Therme Plus initiative, as a merger of the most popular thermal spas in Austria, was founded in the crisis year 2020 to give the industry a voice in difficult times. The first major success came quickly with the institutionalization of the thermal baths specialist group in the Chamber of Commerce. And the joint campaign with Österreichwerbung in 2021 was a complete success. Nevertheless, the Therme Plus initiative has not yet reached its goal with its demands: “In the past, we thermal baths were neglected and we continue to see major disadvantages – for example with the VAT rate, which was rightly lowered for the hotel industry during the pandemic and maintained even following the crisis – but we thermal baths looked through our fingers!” says Gucher, who calls on politicians to be more fair. “After all, we thermal baths have been a guarantor for the positive and sustainable development of domestic tourism for years!”
The collective pass campaign of the Therme Plus initiative is a further sign of the unity of the thermal baths and the importance of the branch for the entire domestic tourism industry.

About the Therme PLUS initiative
The Therme PLUS initiative was launched in summer 2020 by Gerhard Gucher, Director of VAMED Vitality World, and is a collaboration between the 37 most well-known thermal baths and thermal bath resorts in Austria. In 2019, the thermal baths welcomed 9.53 million guests and are therefore an important economic driver: as a training center for around 350 apprentices, partner of over 5,000 regional suppliers and workplace of more than 6,500 employees. Together, the companies – now also with the support of a specially founded specialist group in the Chamber of Commerce – act as a common voice for the industry and are a guarantee for domestic and international guests in terms of health, well-being and relaxation.
