The 15-year-old from Thessaloniki who denounced his father for domestic violencedescribes the nightmarish moments he lived in his home.
The 50-year-old who was referred to be tried at the Autoforo Three-member Criminal Court of Thessaloniki was released with conditions today Friday (12.4.24), after the complaint of his 15-year-old son for domestic violence.
The court adjourned the case after the 15-year-old complained of domestic violence from his father to his mother, it was decided to follow the institution of criminal mediation.
The court decided to release the 50-year-old on the condition that he does not approach or communicate with his wife and childwhile he is obliged to change his accommodation, but he remains in custody after it was found that he lives in the country illegally and the administrative procedure for his deportation is expected to begin.
“He had hit me too many times”
The 15-year-old talks to newsit.gr:
“Deep down I love my father but when he drinks he does bad things especially to my mother. I’ve been living this since I was 6 years old. He has hit me too many times. I’ve also had stitches in my knee because of it. I was 6 years old and I was running to escape and I fell. He has hit me many times with his hands and kicks. Like my mother the same. I want us to help him” says the 15-year-old.
And it continues: “He’s not a bad person, he just doesn’t know what he’s doing when he’s drunk. Last Sunday I saw my mother crying and she had a black eye and she looked like she was in pain. I was told nothing happened. My father went to leave and I grabbed him by the neck because I got angry. Then we calmed down.”
“The next day, Monday, my mother called a friend of hers in tears and said that her blood pressure had risen. She told me and I believed that my father hit her again. I took it and informed the police. I started to go home but I was far away”, he confesses.
“Finally I went to the police and told the truth that I was afraid for my mother. Now I want my father to get well and continue his life freely. And may my mother rest in peace. But I won’t be by his side”, concludes the 15-year-old.
