An elderly woman in Thessaloniki was lucky as she noticed the 3 women who tried to rob her and were finally arrested.
Three women attempted to steal jewelry worth thousands of euros from a residence in Kalamaria, Thessaloniki, where an 88-year-old woman lived. The grandmother realized what they were trying to do and immediately denounced them, resulting in the women being arrested.
As announced by the Greek Police, the three perpetrators, aged 29, 31 and 35, entered the woman’s apartment at noon yesterday (15.03.24) under the pretext of providing medical assistance and removed jewelry worth 5,000 euros.
After informing the Immediate Action center by the 88-year-old, the authorities proceeded to arrest the women and the jewelry was returned to its rightful owner.
In the context of daily patrols and police investigations carried out by the Services of the General Police Directorate of Thessaloniki, police officers of the Directorates of Security and Immediate Action of Thessaloniki, proceeded during the last 24 hours in spontaneous arrests not only of the three women, but also of an equal number of people for cases of theft and attempted theft .
Those arrested, with the files filed against them, by the competent police departments of Toumpa – Triandria, Lefko Pyrgos and Kalamaria, will be taken to the Prosecutor, while “the patrols and controls will continue at an unabated pace”, according to the announcement .
