They coordinate actions to improve public transportation service in Asunción

Asunción, IP Agency.- The actions based on an implementation model aimed at improving public transportation in Asunción are analyzed by the Ministry of Public Works and Communications, through the Vice Ministry of Transportation and the Municipality of Asunción.

In this framework, the Vice Minister of Transportation, Emiliano R. Fernández and the mayor of the capital commune, Óscar Rodríguez, hold conversations on topics of common interest in terms of urban mobility, emphasizing promoting an integrated transportation system.

It is to advance strategically in the renewal of fleets, itineraries, bus frequency, stops and other important elements to strengthen the service.

After the meeting held this Thursday, Fernández maintained that public transportation is key to the well-being of citizens, and that they will work together for a public service for the city of Asunción, that is friendly and efficient in response to the needs of passengers.

Likewise, Rodríguez explained that the objective of the model presented is to cover the itineraries through an integrated system.

The plan foresees 100 buses that will cover the neighborhoods’ routes and will serve as a feeder base.

He stated that the idea is that citizens can pay once and move, leaving the neighborhoods and trunk roads where the large buses will take them to their destination.
