This unfortunate episode occurred, according to the sentimental partner of the deceased today, after 4 p.m. yesterday, Thursday, and they would have only informed her at 7 p.m. In the midst of her pain, she said that it was from Pinillos, in the south of Bolívar, from where she was told what had happened to her husband, because neither the bosses nor the directives of the contracting firm, Colombia Divining Service, which did the work at the Cotecmar facilities, in Mamonal, they warned him about what had happened.
Mármol Monroy, who also knew about diving, had been working for that firm for about four months and lived in the El Libertador neighborhood. So far what has been said is that one by one his companions were finishing their work and in the end they realized that Freddys Manuel was missing, when they went looking for him they had to enter the water to rescue him. They took him to the infirmary but there was nothing to do. He passed away in that place.
So far there has been no statement from the contracting firm, since the family assures that at the time of the events there was no supervisor. They are expected to give their statements.
