They invest $750 million to prepare the schools of Neuquén before classes

The Ministry of Government and Education of the province launched tasks of school maintenance for this summer for about 750 million pesosin parallel to minor expansion works that are being carried out and the construction of new buildings that it intends to inaugurate for the 2023 school year.

the minister Osvaldo Llancafilo assessed that this recess finds them “better than last year”, when at the beginning of his administration he had counted 143 buildings that were not in a condition to start classes. “This year we start with interventions in 80, whereupon the number dropped considerably. We aspire to arrive with the least possible incidence, with something minimal on March 1, “he explained to BLACK RIVER.

He said that the school maintenance plan for all of 2023 has a budget of 2,500 million pesos, of which 20% will be used in the summer. The municipalities will use another 10% of the package, so in total between January and February about 750 million of pesos.

“We are progressing at a good pace. Since December we have started weeding establishments, cleaning tanks and disinfection,” said the official.

Regarding the works plan, Llancafilo said that of the 11,500 million pesos planned, they are using 1,500 million for “minor extensions”.

Regarding the larger ones, he reported that there are eight new buildings which should be finished by March 1 (seven gardens and the IFD 14 of Cutral Co), when classes begin, in addition to seven other major expansion works being carried out and which will end at the beginning of the school year.

Among these he listed extensions, changes of roof coverings at CPEM 37 in Mariano Moreno, garden 40 in Andacollo, primary school 215 in Barda Negra, EPET 4 in Junín de los Andes, primary school 363 in Rincón de los Sauces, and IFD 3 and CPEM 57 in San Martín de the Andes, among others.

In this year’s budget, items were also foreseen to start 17 new buildings and extensions that will have a longer execution time (2024 or 2025) and that will be tendered during the year.

In either case, Llancafilo said that attendance will be ensured because “alternative devices” are planned so that students can attend class while the works continue.
