They pay tribute to Don Manuel García Uresti, father of García Cabeza de Vaca

Don Manuel García Uresti, father of the governor of the state of Tamaulipas, is honored by one of the most important livestock publications, due to his outstanding career in the sector. In its latest edition, Ganadero magazine highlights its committed work with the Mexican countryside for more than half a century, in which it was a national and international precursor of innovative agricultural processes. Same that improved and developed the cattle, making our country a global benchmark in the field.

Born in the municipality of Matamoros in 1935, and unfortunately passed away last November, Mr. García Uresti distinguished himself as a breeder of commercial and registered cattle in the European Swiss Cattle, Beefmaster and Brahman breeds; but above all for advancing livestock breeding through genetic improvement with processes developed and promoted by himself in the most relevant agricultural circles in Europe and North America. His leadership was of great use in promoting progress in livestock for the benefit of those who depend on it.

The continuous entrepreneurship, preparation in recognized study houses and proven dedication to the agricultural sector, led him to the most prestigious instances of world livestock, as well as to be worthy of the highest recognitions granted to professionals in this productive sector. Among them, the one awarded in 2017, within the framework of the VI Pan-American Braunvieh and Brown Swiss Congress, for being the first rancher to bring European embryos to Mexico, for the genetic improvement of Swiss cattle.
