Promoting entrepreneurship, innovation and business development in the home construction industry is the objective of the international seminar “Sustainable Industrialized Housing in Ñuble”, which will feature the participation of prominent national and international experts from the United Kingdom, Uruguay and Canada, on April 3 and 4, at the University of Bío-Bío (UBB) in Chillán.

Attendees of this initiative sponsored by Corfo’s Viraliza Program and organized by the UBB will be able to exchange experiences, establish networks and enhance the growth of the sustainable ecosystem for the region.

According to the project director and academic at the UBB Faculty of Engineering, Alexander Opazo, “the academy can influence the productive development of industrialized housing in 3 major aspects. The first is in the training of future professionals in the areas of architecture, engineering and construction.” He added that “secondly, the university can influence through carrying out research, development and innovation projects, in close collaboration with private companies and public institutions in the field (…). And as a third aspect, it can contribute through a powerful connection with the environment and territorial relevance.”

For her part, the director of Corfo Ñuble, Macarena Dávila, stated that “Ñuble has an important challenge to face and resolve regarding the housing deficit, so it is very necessary to strengthen SMEs that could potentially be part of the chain. value of industrialized housing construction in the region.”

“This can be an opportunity for companies to train in modern construction methods and incorporate technologies that allow them to be more competitive, productive and efficient,” he added.

The meeting will include conferences, discussion panels and information stands, to strengthen connections between companies and institutions linked to the construction value chain in Ñuble
