A woman had to be rescued in the Darién area after being abandoned by the guides in the middle of the journey, reported 800 Noticias.
Several Venezuelans captured the moment in which they helped her. Apparently, the abandonment of people occurs for health reasons and this would be one of those cases.
The video shows how four Venezuelan migrants improvise a stretcher and carry the woman, who is from the Ivory Coast.
The Venezuelan journalist Roberto Bermúdez spread the moment on social networks that a Venezuelan expresses the journey in the midst of tears. “There we go, helping people, something that other people don’t do (…) Only Venezuelans do this, it makes me want to keep going. We are going to take her alive, we are going to fight and we are going to help her,” he said.
The Darién jungle is the place through which migrants cross the borders that divide Colombia from Panama.
