Agents from the Wildlife Guard Corps of the province of Neuquén intercepted four men who were hunting clandestinely, in a field towards the mountain area that is not enabled for this purpose. About 150 kilograms of red deer meat and long weapons were seized. Employees of the Neuquén Forestry Corporation (Corfone) are being investigated who may have facilitated the entry to the property of the people who carried out the illegal activity.
According to reports from the Province, the poachers were in a ranch called La Escondida, near the Alicurá reservoir, which was under the care of a group of Corfone agents and, after the testimonies collected at the site, they were suspected of having been the ones. They facilitated entry to the property where this clandestine activity was carried out. The reasons why they did so are now being investigated.
The Wildlife Guard Corps, an organization belonging to the Ministry of Tourism, carried out the required procedures, prepared the corresponding minutes and filed the complaint at Police Station 51, in Villa Traful. Internal investigations were also initiated that (if guilt is confirmed) could lead to the dismissal or exoneration of the agents involved in this serious action.
Poaching: complaint in Junín de los Andes
From the Wildlife Guard corps they reported that the report of poaching was made in the Junín de los Andes delegation, on Wednesday, March 20 at 6 p.m. Given the exposure, they contacted Corfone authorities and immediately went to the La Escondida field. .
During the inquiries that were made at the different positions on the property, and given the lack of knowledge of the Corfone employees about the complaint, the Wildlife Guards were finally able to identify the four suspects. When questioned, these people acknowledged the accusations and reported that Corfone employees had facilitated their access to the property and the illegal activity.
Finally, they handed over the meat of the animals, which was divided into bags, and the heavy-caliber weapons they used.
