They sold adulterated liquor 7 bars from here

Seven of the 40 establishments in which adulterated drinks from a clandestine laboratory that was seized in the city of Chihuahua were found are in Juárez, reported the Director General of Government, Eloy García Tarín.

The official indicated that in these seven places more than 20 bottles of adulterated liquor were seized.

The most relevant case is that of the Rainbow Terrace, where a rave party was held on January 7 in which the Municipal Public Security Secretariat (SSPM) insured 60 people, most of them minors, he said.

He said that the terrace organized the party with a cover for minors, which included drinks, and during the operation several adulterated bottles of tequila and whiskey were found that had already been distributed among adolescents.

The other six establishments on this border where this type of merchandise was found were not disclosed, but García Tarín mentioned that some other places in the state where they were found are the Rocas Bar and San Antonio canteens, as well of several Modelorama and Six liquor stores, as well as the Cocoro and Tres Mercedes restaurant-bars, all of them in the city of Chihuahua.

In Camargo, at the El Molino liquor store; in Santa Bárbara, at La Terraza, and in Meoqui at the La Costa beer, wine and liquor store, among others.

“It has been practically throughout the state where we have found fake, adulterated drinks,” the official said.

He said that the sellers’ mode of operation was through social networks, so buyers stayed to see them in the parking lots of the businesses or came directly to offer them.

The sanctions that these 40 establishments have received reach up to 62,000 pesos depending on the case, since a fine is applied for health risks that is 12,000 pesos and another for the sale of adulterated beverages that is 24,000, he said.

The operations in which these 40 sanctions have been carried out have been carried out so far in the present state administration, he explained.

El Diario published yesterday that the adulterated liquor that was manufactured in the insured warehouse reached established businesses such as outlets, nightclubs, bars and canteens throughout the state.

In that place, state police officers seized 1,813 bottles of recognized brands such as Don Julio, Buchanan’s and Maestro Dobel, in addition to false labels from the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, according to information released by the state government.

Likewise, three rolls of fiscal and sanitary control labels from the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit were seized; five rolls of labels, a box of headbands, all from well-known brands of tequila, as well as a roll of barcoded labels.
