“This is a health catastrophe.” The Pharmacists Syndicate warns of starvation!

The head of the Pharmacists Syndicate, Joe Salloum, indicated that “smuggled medicines invade the Lebanese markets, and this is a health disaster,” explaining that “we have no powers to search outside the scope of pharmacies, i.e. “bag merchants” and others.

Salloum added, in an interview with “mtv”, that “the significant decline in the import of medicines indicates that the Lebanese are resorting to alternative markets,” and this is not their fault, stressing that “the state must take a bold decision to strictly control the borders, prevent the entry of smuggled medicine, and secure good medicine.” .

He also saw that “the solution is to lift subsidies, but this step must be followed by a health card with financial support to buy medicine.”

In addition, the Pharmacists Syndicate warned that “we are going to starve and the food safety of the child is threatened,” revealing that “we are taking action at all levels, internally and externally, and for a donor conference on the issue of medicine and milk.”
