This is how the protagonists of Nos los Nobles look eleven years after its release in theaters

More than a decade since its release, Nos los Nobles remains one of the most notable films in Mexican cinema, becoming the second highest-grossing film in the country. This 2024, the film released in 2013 will return to theaters to commemorate 11 years since its release, a reason that has excited fans of Mexican cinema.

Under the direction of Gary Alazraki, this comedy portrays the story of “Germán Noble”, a wealthy businessman who, to teach a life lesson to his three children accustomed to opulence, fakes the loss of his entire fortune.

This ingenious entanglement, based in turn on The Great Calavera, by Luis Buñuel in 1949, not only captivated the public but also grossed more than 340 million Mexican pesos at the box office.

The plot revolves around the Noble family and how its members face the sudden “poverty” imposed by the patriarch, a role played masterfully by Gonzalo Vega.

Unfortunately, the actor died in 2016 at the age of 69, after a battle against myelodysplastic syndrome – a disease that affects the production of blood cells in the bone marrow -, leaving behind an indelible legacy in the Mexican film industry.

Other members of the cast, such as Juan Pablo Gil, Ana Karina Guevara, Marcela Guirado, Carlos Gascón, today Karla Sofía, Ianis Guerrero, Karla Souza and Luis Gerardo Méndez, have continued their careers participating in various television and film productions both in Mexico and in abroad.

Luis Gerardo Méndez, who played “Javier Noble” in the award-winning 2013 film, has continued his career as an actor and also as a producer. He is now 42 years old and has participated in Netflix productions such as: Club de Cuervos and Mystery on Board. He will soon appear in the role of “Mario Bezares” in Who Killed Him?, a fictional series about the murder of Paco Stanley.

Karla Souza, who fell in love with the public as the frivolous “Bárbara Noble”, is now 38 years old, married to businessman Marshall Trenkmann and has a daughter. A few years ago she left Mexico to try her luck in the United States, where she has also stood out as a producer.

Juan Pablo Gil, who gave life to “Charlie Noble”, has remained active in the world of acting, standing out in soap operas such as Si nos deja and La inheritance.

Carlos Gascón played “Peter”, the boyfriend of “Bárbara Noble”. She is now 52 years old and in 2016 she announced her gender reassignment and changed her name to Karla Sofía Gascón. She recently participated in the reality show MasterChef Celebrity, where he caused controversy due to his explosive personality.

Ana Karina Guevara played “Carmen”, “Charlie’s” boss. The actress has worked in other productions such as Until I Met You, Iago and The Dragon.

Marcela Guirado, who played a friend of “Bárbara” is now 34 years old, has worked in series such as The Negotiator and El Rey Vicente Fernández.

For his part, Ianis Guerrero played “Lucho”. Today he is 43 years old and has participated in series such as Blue Demon and The Ballad of Hugo Sánchez.

Guevara, Gascón, Guerrero, Souza and Méndez have also found success in recent projects, ranging from recognized series to participation in cooking reality shows, highlighting the versatility and talent that characterizes the original cast of Nos los Nobles.

This retrospective not only celebrates the impact that Nos los Nobles had at the time, but also how its protagonists have evolved and grown within the industry, maintaining the essence that made them stand out in this iconic Mexican film.
