Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – American artist Will Smith, Friday, published a video on his social media accounts, in which he discussed slapping his colleague Chris Rock on stage at the Oscars last March 28, and apologized .
The video begins with a message written on the screen that reads: “Over the past few months, I’ve been thinking a lot and asking a lot of questions that I wanted to answer.”
Smith then enters the frame of the video, sits in a chair and answers a number of questions, starting with “Why didn’t you apologize to Chris in your Oscar acceptance speech?”
Will Smith replies, “I felt a blur in that moment. Everything’s fuzzy.” “I have tried to contact Chris and the message I got is that he is not ready to talk and when he is he will contact me,” he added.
Will Smith addressed his speech to Chris Rock, saying, “I apologize to you, my behavior was unacceptable, and I am here any time you are ready to speak,” and he also directed his apologies to Chris’ mother and his family.
