What if you don’t know all the games in the Grand Theft Auto series? While waiting for GTA 6, this episode could well fill you.

GTA, only cult opuses?

For some licenses, the shadow does not exist. At each exit of a Call of Dutyof a FIFA or a Resident Evil, video game fans flock to it by the millions. But, despite their popularity, these sagas sometimes offer titles that are radically different from what their audience is used to.

Surely few players know Resident Evil : Dead Aim or Assassin’s Creed : Awakening. License GTA also knew how to surprise with a more confidential episode, but which has nothing to envy to the triple AAA of the saga: Grand Theft Auto : Chinatown Wars.

Chinatown Wars, confusing, but devilishly effective

One March 2009, GTA : Chinatown Wars released on Nintendo DS (then in October on PSP, with new content). In GTA : Chinatown Wars, you play as Huang Lee, a character nourished by a thirst for revenge. This episode offers a vision very different from that of the opuses of the PS2/Xbox era. With its view from above, as in the first two GTA, Chinatown Wars may seem confusing for fans of San Andreas or of Vice City.

However, the formula works perfectly. Fun, beautiful, long and captivating by its scenario, GTA : Chinatown Wars has all the elements of a very good Grand Theft Auto. Not playable on home console, the game will be widely praised by critics, but will obviously not sell as well as a San Andreas or one GTA IV. You can still discover this somewhat forgotten opus of the saga Grand Theft Autoon iOS and Android.
