Actress Kate Winslet won Best Actress in a Miniseries or TV Movie for her role in “Mare of East Town”.
In terms of movies, Garfield won Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for his portrayal of writer Jonathan Larson in “Take, Take…Boom.”
“Incanto” won the award for Best Animated Feature.
The ceremony was held in Beverly Hills, in southern California, on a small scale, after the Los Angeles Times reported last year that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which organizes the ceremony, does not have a black member.
The association also faced criticism after the newspaper reported that 30 members of it stayed in a luxury French hotel during their visit to the filming site of the series “Emily in Paris”, which later won two nominations for the 2021 awards.
